standard form for a linear equation means

- all coefficients must be integers

- only the constant on the right-hand-side

- "x" must not have a negative coefficient

[tex]y-11=3(x-2)\implies y-11=3x-6\\\\\\-3x+y=5\implies \boxed{3x-y=-5}[/tex]
