Each body paragraph contains a topic sentence that tells readers what the paragraph is going to be about, and I'm pretty sure you know that but the supporting sentences discuss the idea from the topic sentence. The body paragraphs use examples and evidence to support the discussion you're talking about, and a concluding sentence that emphasizes the importance of the whole topic.
