In this situation, I'd use a proportion: [tex]\frac{8}{100}=\frac{x}{80}[/tex]

Multiply diagonally: [tex]100x=640[/tex]

Divide by 100 on both sides: [tex]x=6.4[/tex]

Therefore, 80cm of kitchen flooring would cost £6.40.
