3^3 = 3 x 3 x 3 = 27
(4)(2) = 4 x 2 = 8

therefore 3^3 - (4)(2) = 27 - 8 = 19

Well, 3 to the 3rd power is the EXACT SAME THING as 3 times 3 times 3.
So 3 x 3 = 9, then 9 x 3 = 27.
So now we work on the other side of the problem;
(4)(2) is the same as 4 times 2, which is 8.
Now we subtract;
27 - 8 = 19.
So your final answer is 19.
I hope I helped! =D
