20 pencils would cost $4.60. First you have to divide 8 by $1.84 and then you would get $0.23. Then you multiply $0.23 by 20 because each pencil cost 23 cents.

8/1.84= .23 (how much each pencil cost)

(buying 3 boxes would cost $5.42)

.23*20= 4.6

the cost of 20 pencils is $4.60
