The gradient of the graph is 2.

Solution:

Let the points on the graph are (-2, 0) and (0, 4).

Here [tex]x_1=-2, y_1=0, x_2=0, y_2=4[/tex].

Gradient of the graph:

[tex]$\text{Gradient }= \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

               [tex]$= \frac{4-0}{0-(-2)}[/tex]

               [tex]$= \frac{4-0}{0+2}[/tex]

               [tex]$= \frac{4}{2}[/tex]

Cancel the common terms, we get

Gradient = 2

The gradient of the graph is 2.
