The equation given in the question is
3x^2 + 22x - 16 = 0
3x^2 + 24x - 2x - 16 = 0
3x(x + 8) - 2(x + 8) = 0
(3x - 2)(x + 8) = 0
Then either
3x - 2 = 0
3x = 2
x = 2/3
Or
x + 8 = 0
x = - 8
So from the above deduction, we can conclude that the value of "x" cam be either 2/3 or - 8.
