Plug in f(x) = 0

0 = (-6x - 9)/2

Multiply 2 on both sides

0 = -6x - 9

Add 9 on both sides

9 = -6x

Divide -6 on both sides

x = 9/-6 = -3/2

When x = -3/2, f(x) = 0

Plug in f(x) = 0 to solve

[tex]f(x) = \frac{-6x-9}{2} [/tex]

[tex]0 = (-6x - 9)/2[/tex]

[tex]0 = -6x - 9[/tex]

[tex]9 = -6x[/tex]

[tex]x = 9/-6 = -3/2[/tex]

[tex] x = -3/2, f(x) = 0[/tex]
