Lanston is talking about how once racism ends, people who were/ are racist will be ashamed of themselves. He wants people to know that he is a bold figure in the black community. Nowadays, the measures have upped the scale durastically. The riots didn't happen like how they did in those old days. Nowadays, this poem could and most likely will inspire most people to be pro-black and to share the beauty of all lives.
