Unique vegetation region in east-central Oklahoma. Goes from southeastern Kansas, thru central OK into north central TX. Woods, plains, prairies, and mountains. Cross Timbers had been challenging to penetrate due to the fact the wooded areas grew so shut together. First railroads constructed strains both east or west of Cross Timbers.
