First Find slope by using [tex] \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1} [/tex]

[tex] \frac{4-6}{-2-2} = \frac{-2}{-4} = \frac{1}{2} [/tex]

Now use point Slope form to find the equation of the line (y-y₁)=m(x-x₁)
(y-6)=[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex](x-2)
y-6=[tex] \frac{1}{2} x-1[/tex]
y=[tex] \frac{1}{2} x+5[/tex] is your equation
