The total surface area of a cylinder of radius 4 cm and height of 8cm in terms of pie is 96π cm².

Surface area of a cylinder

Surface area of cylinder  = 2πr(r + h)

where

  • r = radius of the base
  • h = height of the cylinder

Therefore,

height  = 8 cm

radius = 4 cm

Hence,

Surface area of cylinder  = 2 × π × 4 (4 + 8)

Surface area of cylinder  = 8π(12)

Surface area of cylinder  = 96π cm²
