you could treat it as a matrix and solve it that way
graph and find intersection
etc.

y = –2x + 8 
y = x – 4

Set them to equal to each other to solve for x.

x - 4 = -2x + 8

3x = 12

x = 4

Plug 4 for x in either equation.
 
y = x – 4

y = 4 - 4

y = 0

So (4, 0)
