Compared to the prices paid for the goods and merchandise created in sweatshops, the price is marked up. The wages paid by employers to employees in sweatshops is little to none. Workers are paid around 5 cents for each piece of merchandise they make. When these good are brought into the market they are priced over 100 times more.
