The Supreme Court is 33 percent female. Other federal courts (districts and circuit) have the same proportion. Does that seem too low, given that women make up nearly 52 percent of the population? What about the fact that none of the nine justices is Protestant in a country that is around 51 percent Protestant? Should we care about the religious preferences of Supreme Court justices?

Yes, arguably the Supreme court justices and other offices should represent the proportions of the population, so if over half the population is female, then logically, at least half of offices should be filled with females for those offices to better represent the population, making it more fair.

Same goes for those who are Protestant, having more diversity and representation in any elected or non-elected office will always make the system better.
