The notion of sight isn't the sole way to navigate. Despite their poor vision, they are capable of precise navigation. Binocular cues prevent blind spots and allow you to check your peripheral vision. Monocular cues help to limit this, especially if the person's dominant eye is injured. It may be challenging, but it is not impossible to adjust. Because of the blocking of peripheral views, depth perception is affected; however, if the person can easily adjust, this will not be an issue in the long run.
