Can some one explain to me the difference between the min & max and the local min & max? I'm trying to find this on this graph, but I have no idea how to distinguish which is which.
(Please, only respond if you know how to help. Thank you.)

Can some one explain to me the difference between the min amp max and the local min amp max Im trying to find this on this graph but I have no idea how to disti class=

Respuesta :

The local min/max occur at turning points where the slope is zero.
On a graph they appear as the top of a hill or bottom of a dip.

For your example the local max occurs at x = -5 and local min at x=5.
