The number that goes into both of these is 22 and 22 will go into 2, 11 times so that becomes 11/22 instead of ½ and then 7/11 becomes 14/22. What you do is take the common denominator and since that is 22 you say how many time will 2 go into 22 and it is 11 so multiply 11*1 which is 11 then do the same with the 7/11 since it is 22 it goes in 2x so 2*7 is 14 so if you have to add the two then it is 11/22+14/22= 25/22 which would be reduced to 1 and 3/22
