Suppose that farmers grew an unexpectedly large number of tomatoes this year. How would this increase production affect the price of tomatoes

It would decrease the price of tomatoes. As supply rises, demand lowers and the cost lowers with it.

because there are so many there isn't a need for tomatoes. There isn't a demand. So the price will be lower than if a smaller number of tomatoes had grew
