If there are 4 boys and 2 girls in a family, what is the ratio of boys in the family to children in the family?

Boys = 4
Children = Boys + Girls = 4 + 2 = 6

This means that the ratio of boys to children is 4:6
You can also simplify this to 2:3  

In this case, this means that for every 3 children, 2 of them will be boys.
