Hypotheses, theories, and laws are all considered "an estimated guess." They each have similar qualities but, the most similar quality is that they are all used by scientists and artists. When you make a hypothesis, you are making an estimated guess. When you are making a theory, you are making an estimated guess. When you're using a law, like for example, the law of conservation, you are making an estimated guess.
