The failure to become aware of stimuli one can clearly sense if called unconsciousness. A person may claim not to be aware if someone points out to them they do indeed have a choice, or may be overwhelmed by an overload of stimuli to the point of feeling incapable of acknowledging all stimuli. If one is motivated to remain open-minded, open and curious, levels of consciousness can increase accordingly.
