Since a peasant owns little property and works in the employ of a landowner or business owner, he or she would have little concern for the loss of property and be less concerned if the flow of products is disrupted. He or she would also have more incentive to invest in a revolution that upended the status quo and allowed for more mobility within the social and economic hierarchies. The merchant would be invested in quelling any rebellion that would interrupt the economy and cause destruction of property and good.
