b + [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex] = 2

First, subtract [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex] from both sides. / Your problem should look like: b = 2 - [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex]
Second, simplify 2 - [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex] to [tex] \frac{5}{3} [/tex] / Your problem should look like: b = [tex] \frac{5}{3} [/tex]

Answer: b = [tex] \frac{5}{3} [/tex]
