What was the view of society and politics held by Hamilton? Who did he feel should govern, and why?

Alexander Hamilton (whose picture is on my profile) was an avid federalist--meaning that he was in favor of the federal government having a majority of the power and authority in the US, since he felt this was the way in which the US could move forward in the best way. He felt that the educated and experienced should govern those who were not.
