3x²-12x-60=0
simplify by dividing by 3: x²-4x-20=0
cannot be factored, use the quadratic formula: √(b²-4ac)=√[(-4)²-4*1*(-20)]=√96=4√6
x=2+2√2 or x=2-2√2
