[tex]y - x = 0 ...equation 1[/tex]
[tex]2x - 5y = 9 \: ...equation \: 2 [/tex]
working with equation 1
[tex]y = x \: ...equation \: 3[/tex]
next subsitue equation 3 in equation 1
[tex]2x - 5(x) = 9[/tex]
[tex]2x - 5x = 9[/tex]
[tex] - 3x = 9[/tex]
divide by -3
[tex]x = - 3[/tex]
substitute x= -3 in equation 1
[tex]y - ( - 3) = 0[/tex]
[tex]-(-3) = + 3[/tex]
[tex]y = - 3[/tex]
