1/6³ is simply multiplying the fraction 3 times.

or the numerator 3 times and the denominator 3 times.

It can be: 1/6 * 1/6 * 1/6 = 1 * 1 * 1 =    1   
                                          6 * 6 * 6      216

or     1³    =      1 
         6³         216
