At top speed, the space shuttle can move as fast as 7,860 meters per second. At this rate, how many meters can it travel in a minute?

Since their are 60 seconds in a minute, we can multiply 7,860 by 60 seconds.

7,860*60=471,600

So in 1 minute, it can travel 471,600 meters.

Final answer: The space shuttle can travel 471,600 meters per minute.

             (7,860 m/sec) x (60 sec/min) 

         =  (7,860 x 60) (m/min)    =   471,600 m/min
