This is because the circles have areas of 9[tex] \pi [/tex] and 4[tex] \pi [/tex] respectively. 

Plus we can tell the square has the area of 100 due to the fact that the diameters of the circles add up to 10, meaning the larger circle has a radius equal to 5 and an area of 25[tex] \pi [/tex]. Subtract the other two from the larger one and you get your answer.
