A man has 24 coins in his pockets all of which are dimes and quarters, if the total value is 420 cents how many dimes and how many quarters does he have?

LOL I dont know if this 420 is a joke but I will solve.
x= dimes y= quarters
x plus y= 24
10x plus 25y= 420
-10x plus -10y = -240

15y= 180
y= 12
x plus 12 =24
x=12
12 dimes and 12 quarters.
