Dawn was just breaking.
I had just woken up and quickly prepared my gear for today’s
lesson. I do so quickly so as not to
earn the ire of my teachers. I polish my
armor and my shield and see to it my sword and spear are clean and sharp. Class will start in an hour and it will be
about shield and spear drills. I mentally
steady for the demands of the lesson and hope I do my best so that one I will
be warrior worthy to defend Sparta.
